An intricate, sweet take on the great midwestern prairie and the creatures that live there. Artist's Notes: "The inspiration for this particular artwork came to me during a trip to visit my brother in South Dakota. Although I grew up in a rural prairie and forest environment, the vast grasslands that span the center of the US fascinated me. With its storybook landscape and conspicuous fauna, I felt like I walked right into a diagram in an ecology textbook. A few weeks later, I visited the Natural History Museum in New York City and fell in love with the cross section dioramas. I used this cross section technique to illustrate my prairie, and voilà! In addition to garnishing your lonely wall, this piece makes for a great learning tool to teach your little one about the various species that live in this particular ecosystem!"
