Orders & returns
You can find our full return and refund policy here.
For international returns, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All costs for return shipment are the responsibility of the customer. Please pack the item well (additional packaging may be necessary). We are not responsible for lost packages or items that are damaged in return shipping.
Your lot number can be found on the white sticker affixed to the black label that is wrapped around your roll(s). This is the only place the lot number exists, so please be sure to keep this label or make note of the lot number somewhere safe.
We print in small lots and can't guarantee a 100% color match between each print lot. If in doubt, it's best to order an extra roll. If you end up not needing it, we are happy to accept returns of unopened rolls within 30 days of delivery. If you need to order more wallpaper from a specific lot number, please put that lot number into the "Special instructions and lot number request" box during checkout.
Orders of in-stock items will ship within 1-2 business days of placing your order. For backordered items, current shipping estimates are listed on each product page below the ADD TO CART button.
Domestic shipping is for free for sample orders up to $25. Please allow 5-7 business days for your samples to arrive. If you need your samples faster, please choose one of our expedited shipping options at checkout.
All other products:
We use flat rate shipping on all of our products. Please see here for current shipping rates within the U.S.
We ship all of our products internationally using UPS. Shipping options and estimated transit times will be provided at checkout.
Sometimes packages are marked as delivered prior to their actual delivery. As such, we ask that you wait a day or two to see if your package is delivered. If not, please report the missing package to UPS using your tracking number, and also alert us to the problem at email@example.com so we can help with locating or replacing your order.
Wallpaper samples & discounts
While we aim to make sure all of our photographs accurately represent the colors in the product shown, we cannot account for how different device screens will display them. Additionally, colors read differently in every environment, depending on how much and what type of light you get, other colors in your space, etc. Ordering a sample is the best and most accurate way to see how different colors and patterns will look in your home.
It’s important to order samples in the correct format. The same pattern and colorway can look quite different in traditional wallpaper versus peel and stick, for example. If you are unsure as to which format you’d like to use, we strongly recommend ordering samples in each so you can get a feel for the color, look, and finish of each production method.
All of our samples are pre-cut from the actual product. Traditional wallpaper samples are 8.5 x 11 inches (with the exception of Daydream, for which we also offer samples in an extra large format), and digital wallpaper samples are 8 x 10 inches. Since nearly all of our repeats are larger than this, samples will not contain a full repeat. However, our samples are meant for color-matching purposes only, and will still provide a good feel for scale.
Discount codes cannot be combined with other discounts, and are not valid on previous purchases. Sale items are also excluded from promotional discount codes unless otherwise stated. Tax and shipping costs are not included in calculating any discount using our discount codes.
Purchases made with discount codes (unlike our clearance sale items) can be returned according to our return policy here.
We currently offer our patterns in three different formats. All of our papers are highly durable and washable, and both our traditional and pre-pasted wallpapers are Class A fire-rated.
Our traditional wallpapers are hand screen printed in Chicago on American-made paper. These papers have a hand painted look and texture and we have the most pattern and color options available in this format. These papers work in nearly any application. You can watch how our wallpapers are made in this video.
Our pre-pasted wallpapers are digitally printed on PVC-free paper. These papers are also GREENGUARD Gold certified. Paste is not needed to install these papers, which work in nearly any application a traditional paper would work.
Lastly, our peel and stick wallpapers are also digitally printed. These papers have an adhesive backing that does not require any kind of paste to install, and can be removed and repositioned as needed. Peel and stick wallpaper is great for kids’ spaces, dorms, rentals, or any other temporary installation.
Both our traditional and pre-pasted wallpapers are suitable for use in bathrooms. We do recommend, however, that the room has adequate ventilation and that the wallpaper is not installed in an area where it will come into direct contact with water. We also recommend using a wallpaper primer first to help with adhesion.
Our peel and stick wallpapers are not suitable for bathrooms.
It is very important to order the correct number of rolls, as colors may vary between lots (read more about lot numbers here). Please don't hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the dimensions (height and width) of each wall you'd like to paper and we can calculate how many wallpaper rolls you'll need. As a general rule of thumb, each wallpaper roll covers approximately 45-50 square feet once trim and pattern repeat are factored in, but this can vary depending on wall height and other factors.
You can also use our online calculator to determine how many rolls your space requires.
How to determine the number of wallpaper rolls you need:
1. Measure your walls: Make sure you have an accurate measurement in inches of height and width of the portion of the wall you'll be covering. Sometimes it helps to draw a rough sketch to use while you do your calculations.
2. Determine the number of strips you'll need: Our traditional wallpapers are 27" wide and our pre-pasted wallpapers are 24” wide. Once you have the width of your wall in inches, take the width and divide by 27 (for traditional) or 24 (for pre-pasted). This will give you the number of strips of wallpaper that you will need. Remember to always round up!
3. Determine how many strips you can get out of a roll: This can be the tricky part as it depends on the repeat of your wallpaper. The repeats on our wallpapers vary between 18" to 36", so be sure to check the product measurements.
- To determine the approximate number of repeats per roll, divide 360 (30' times 12") by the repeat of your wallpaper.
- Take the height of your wall in inches and add 4-5” to account for trim on top and bottom. Then divide by the repeat—this will give you the number of repeats you need in each strip.
- Then divide the number of repeats per roll by the number of repeats you need per strip which will give you the number of strips you'll be able to get out of each roll.
4. Last, just take the number of strips you'll need from Step 2 and divide by the number of strips you can get out of a roll. Again, always round up!
Please note that if you are wallpapering a wall with a door or window, that square footage rarely factors into the calculation, unless it is a significant portion of the wall.
If you are papering a wall with windows and/or doors, please note that square footage rarely factors into the calculation, unless it is a significant portion of the wall. In the vast majority of instances, we suggest including the space occupied by windows and doors as part of your total wall width.
Our rolls are considered DOUBLE rolls, which means that each roll is 30’ long (a single roll is 15’ long). If your project requires two double rolls, for example, you should order two of our rolls. If you need two single rolls, order just one of our rolls.
Due to the handmade nature of our products, all of our wallpapers need to be matched at eye level. That way, any slight misalignment in the pattern will be minimized, as they will fall at the top or bottom of the wall. Hand screen printed papers, like ours, can have up to a 1/8" allowance in pattern match at the seams. We do much better, but you must allow for this type of match with a hand screen printed paper.
Due to the ink used in printing, there may be a slight odor to the paper when it is first unwrapped. The inks and solvents have all been tested and are safe per OSHA standards. The odor will quickly dissipate during or after hanging. We recommend ventilating the room well after hanging both to speed drying and to allow the odor to dissipate more quickly.
All of our wallpapers are washable using a mild soap that does not contain detergent. Rinse with clear, clean water. Stains caused by grease and oil may not necessarily be removed. Do not use abrasives.
The best way to get an accurate color match to your wallpaper is to bring in a swatch from your actual rolls to a paint store for the color match. This will provide an exact match between your wallpaper and paint.
Special orders are orders of previously discontinued papers. Custom orders are orders of current or discontinued patterns in custom colors or scales, or on type II vinyl. Both special and custom orders have a 10-roll minimum plus a $300-set up fee. Discounts do not apply to special or custom orders. Please email email@example.com for current production/lead times, more details, or to place a special or custom order.
