Forest Floor (Ebony) | Wallpapered Ceiling | Hygge & West

We couldn't be more in love with this Forest Floor (Ebony) ceiling installation by Cass Smith of @cassmakeshome. We love the black and gold in contrast to the beautiful white walls for that perfect touch of mystery and glamor! We asked Cass a little bit about her stunning project below.

Why did you choose Forest Floor (Ebony) wallpaper for this room?

I chose this pattern because it feels elegant and moody (my favorite combo). The pattern is perfectly whimsical, yet it has so much depth to it. The amazing color palette and metallic accenting was just the icing on the cake and fit perfectly with my vision for this room!

Why did you decide to wallpaper ceiling?

I decided to add this paper to the ceiling because I wanted it to have a big impact. I've always loved doing things differently, and this was my way to step out of my comfort zone.

Any tips or trick for wallpapering a ceiling?

My tip for wallpapering a ceiling is to have two ladders and two sets of hands! Having someone there to hold up the paper while you line it up is key to doing it easily. I would also recommend applying the paste directly to the ceiling (very liberally), and then putting the paper on. It's much more difficult to maneuver the paper while overhead, and this helps that.

What do you think the wallpaper adds to the space?

This wallpaper adds so much depth and drama to the room. It makes the room feel bigger by drawing the eye upward and it adds so much more character.

Thanks so much for sharing with us, Cass! Enjoy!
